Arbor Vetum
NATURAL OUTDOOR FINISH
Furniture supplied in Arbor Vetum's natural outdoor finish requires no other maintenance than a periodic scrub with natural soap, warm water and a soft scrubbing brush to remove any natural build-up. Most stubborn marks can be removed by sanding back the stain with the correct guage of sandpaper or wire wool. Alcohol, wax and oil based treatments will mark the furniture although they can often be removed by scrubbing. Do not expose surfaces to hot objects.
Once silvery grey, which is the result of the natural process of oxidization and the effect of sunlight on the exposed timber, the original teak colour can always be restored by carefully sanding back the surface.
To oil the Arbor Vetum Teak range, we recommend using Sadolin Teak Oil from Sikkens. Please refer to the Sadolin product for detailed instructions.
STANDARD LACQUER FINISH
Arbor Vetum's standard lacquer finishes (available by special order only) are resistant to chlorinated water, organic treatment oils & lotions, moderate heat, non acidic spillages and alcohol.
Cleaning is simple and normally only requires a wipe down with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners and / or abrasive materials to clean and /or spray polishes as they will damage the surface finish. More stubborn marks can be removed by rubbing in the direction of the wood grain using hot water with a small quantity of liquid soap.
